90 Percent: A Memoir of My Demise and Rise is a timely novel. The protagonist, a wealthy businessman named Jasper Beamon, is worried that his bank will go under faster than a home flooded by Hurricane Irene. He discusses the economic stimulus package introduced by President Obama with his associates and fellow church members. Even though Jasper is as rich as several of his associates, they lament the bittersweet steps Wall Street and banks took that lead to the current economic crisis. He praises Obama for trying to institute regulations such as those enacted by President Roosevelt during the Great Depression.
