“Jasper Beamon, a retired African American man who has settled with an abusive, demanding wife, receives a text message from his true love saying she has written a book about their past relationship. The news sends Jasper into a neurotic tailspin with such intensity that he must honestly examine his life. But will he?” – Martha Bowman, Fiction Editor

“I thoroughly enjoyed [her] work. Jasper’s trials and tribulations (mostly brought on by himself) are a perfect vehicle to highlight the hypocrisy of the church-going, god-fearing, and money-hungry individual. Money (or the love thereof) is indeed the root of all evil and Jasper falls victim to his own selfishness … Above all, those readers who haven’t had the chance to visit the motherland will especially enjoy the important information you provided regarding South Africa’s apartheid government and the nooses signifying the numbers of martyrs who gave their lives for the cause. The safaris, the dance rituals, and the foods were all brought to life through Jasper’s eyes…let me say that this is wonderful writing.”

“The suspense [Kathryn Harris] creates is amazing. After all, that is what good novels are about, holding the reader in suspense and sustaining it until finally the revelation or the truth unfolds.”
